Join us for a special edition of Hands On featuring guest artist and maker Jules Niemi of Bitter North Workshop. Jules is no stranger to the studio—it was her creative home before it became mine—and we are happy to welcome her back for an evening focused on repair and material care.
In this workshop, Jules will guide participants through visible mending using darning techniques to repair and rework well-loved garments. We will explore simple, accessible approaches to extending the life of clothing through hand stitching and repair.
Participants are invited to bring 1–3 garments or fabric items in need of mending. Holes, tears, and worn areas are all welcome. Sample materials will also be available for practice in the studio.
This is a small, hands-on workshop designed for close instruction, shared pace, and material exploration.

All experience levels are welcome. No prior sewing or mending experience is required. Must be comfortable using scissors and needles. All tools and materials will be provided.
Participants will leave with a repaired piece and foundational mending skills to continue working with at home.
